YouTube Thumbnail Downloader is an independent, self-funded website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
What it does
You paste a YouTube link. The page asks YouTube's own image server which thumbnail files exist for that video, and lists only the files that came back. Every size printed next to a thumbnail is measured from the file itself — nothing is filled in from a fixed table, and no size is listed unless that file really downloaded.
Why it exists
Most thumbnail download pages print the same list of resolutions for every video, including ones that are not there. On those pages, the largest row is often a grey placeholder image that YouTube served alongside a 404. This page checks the response before it lists anything, and it measures the pixels after.
Who runs it
An independent developer. This site publishes its site name, not the operator's personal name.
What it does not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no saved history
- No batch or bulk downloads
- No uploads — there is no server side to upload anything to
- No image hosting — every thumbnail comes straight from
img.youtube.com
How it is built
One HTML file, one stylesheet, one script. No framework. There is no analytics on the page today. If advertising is added later, the privacy policy will say so first.
